ABOUT US

WHO ARE WE?

We are a team comprising of Singapore students who have worked with Twinkle and Asian Bridge Foundation Philippines in the past 5 years (2013-present) through school service trips that engaged with indigenous communities in the Philippines. Though we are at different stages in our lives, we have come together on the primary basis of having gained so much from these communities and wanting to give back and reciprocate the generosity, hospitality and love they have shown us.

One part of the group worked with Asian Bridge to engage with the Agta community and another group engaged with the Aeta community. Hence, there are separate tabs for Aeta and Agta.

WHY THE

TWINKLE PROJECT?

Twinkle is a person that we all have met through our individual school service trips. She was the coordinator of these trips on the Philippines side, and also has grown deep ties with the indigenous groups there.

She has been a constant friend and dedicated advocate to uplift the lives of the indigenous communities in the Philippines. She has been integral in uniting us students to create this website and work towards our collective goal. She is our main point of contact with the Aeta and Agta communities as well as administratively handling the funds and future volunteer programs. Therefore, we decided to add her name in this project’s title.

VISION

MISSION

We aim to achieve our vision through a series of smaller goals. The first goal is to create a website that:

1) Consists of our documentation and engagement of these communities through the projects that we have done.

2) Provides a platform for people who want to contribute to be able to donate to or be a part of the ongoing projects created by Twinkle.

The purpose of this website is to increase awareness of these communities, attract funders and donations for existing scholarship programs and school supplies, as well as to attract participants to an existing program called the Christmas Youth Outreach.

We hope that the website will gain momentum and as a result provide a steady amount of donations and thus, allow us to create new programs where the participants can have a say in how it can be run or what can be done.
